Regional Leadership Forum 2007
A group of regional leaders convened on Saturday, October 20, before OD Network Conference 2007, to discuss how regional OD networks can benefit from working together and to explore the connections among the regional networks and between the OD Network and the regionals.
The conversation, which included participants from across the USA and one participant from Japan, included the identification of best practices, the possibility of a speakers’ bureau to be hosted on the OD Network website, and the regional networks email discussion list. Participants were encouraged to use the email discussion list to share ideas, best practices, and program topic ideas. After a lively discussion, we continued to get to know one another and to explore common interests over a great dinner in Baltimore’s Little Italy.
Baltimore’s OD Network Conference offered the third annual opportunity for a Regional Leadership Forum. This forum was hosted by Laura Gramling, President of the Chesapeake Bay OD Network, who also served as the local conference host. Originally developed as a product of Regional Leadership Initiative, which was a subcommittee of the OD Network’s Strategic Planning and Implementation Team, these forums have proven to be of great value to those who attend. Plans for similar sessions in 2008 in Austin are under discussion. If you are interested in participating, please join the regional network email discussion list.

Background of the Regional Leadership Initiative
The Regional Leadership Initiative (RLI) was launched in February 2005 as one of several ways that the OD Network Strategic Planning and Implementation Team chose to address the goal of Creating a Foundation for Revitalization and Sustainability of Regional/Local Groups. Comprised of 10 regional leaders from around the US, the RLI was focused on identifying and developing processes to help connect the regional networks to the OD Network and to each other for the purpose of sharing ideas and resources in support of the OD Network’s mission of advancing the theory and practice of organization development.
