Chesapeake Bay OD Network will host its 2013 Annual Conference Friday, April
26, at the George Mason University Arlington, VA campus. This year's keynotes include:
Our morning keynote presenter Danielle
LaPorte will guide us through tapping into personal courage. An
inspirational speaker, former think tank exec and business strategist, she offers
weekly "straight-up” advice to over a million viewers at DanielleLaPorte.com. Deemed "the
best place on-line for kick-ass spirituality", the site was named one of
the "Top 100 Websites for Women" by Forbes.
Alexandria Fire Department Chief
Adam Thiel will continue the discussion on courage in the workplace
and spark invigorating thinking at lunch. In addition to a distinguished career
in firefighting and serving as AFD Chief since 2007, Chief Thiel has worked
with various organizations at all levels in achieving transformational change
as a recognized thought leader across the fire and emergency service industries.
For 15 years, Chief Thiel has provided strategy, planning, leadership, and
management advice to international organizations, non-profits, government
agencies, educational institutions, and private firms.
Conference Workshops will align with one of four tracks:
1: Leadership & Followership
Track 2: Change & Transformation
Track 3: Mindfulness, Consciousness, & the Inner Journey
Track 4: Truth & Conviction
Closing our day, we have two additions to recognize some very special members
of our community. In order to honor two caring and giving leaders in our field
who recently passed, CBODN wishes to provide space to remember the great times
we had with Charlie and Edie Seashore. This year’s closing reception will
include a special "Celebration of the Lives of Edie and Charlie Seashore,”
which will allow our community to share stories, memories, and lessons from
these two friends and leaders in our community. The "Courageous
Practitioner Award Reception” will close the day, spotlighting the continued
excellence of our members. Visit
the CBODN website for more information about the 2013 Annual Conference, or to
register to attend. (www.cbodn.org).
