Message from the Board of Trustees Co-Chairs, Matt Minahan, Ed.D. and Marisa Sanchez, Ph.D.

OD Network December

As 2013 comes to a close and we reflect on the year, we are pleased to report on the progress OD Network has made against its strategic goals.

Our #1 goal is tosupport Network members in their work to build healthy human systems. From our strategic planning work, we know that the Network is not a “one size fits all members” association. So we have tailored our professional development offerings to meet the different needs of our members. As a result this year we began offering monthly webinars of interest to novice and experienced OD practitioners, externals and internals, and HR staff. Our first webinar conducted by David Sibbet drew almost 100 participants! We partnered with four organizations to provide specialized, extensive professional development offerings to our members in coaching, organization design, power and systems, and consulting practice development. We have also launched both mentoring and coaching programs to match up mentors/mentees and coaches/coaches. We have expanded the Organization Development Education Association (ODEA) to now include 7 member institutions, securing membership in the Network for almost 450 students. And, finally, OD Connections brings a host of relevant articles right to your email box each month.

Chris was a proponent of successful organizations as “learning organizations,” and he authored over 30 books and 150 articles, including Organization Learning: A Theory of Action Perspective, which he wrote with Donald Schon (1978); Knowledge for Action: A Guide to Overcoming Barriers to Organizational Change (1993); and On Organizational Learning (1993).

  • Become familiar with the structure and goals of each regional;
  • Listen to challenges and experiences;
  • Connect regionals with one another;
