|Message from the Board of Trustees Co-Chairs, Matt Minahan, Ed.D. and Marisa Sanchez, Ph.D.
As the trees leaf out, the azaleas sparkle, and the cacti bloom with springtime promise, so too are things blooming at the OD Network.
The biggest news is that two featured speakers have confirmed for ourConference 2013– Ed Schein and David Sibbet! Our conference theme is Innovating in . . . Social Systems, Learning, Networking, Organizations, and Practice Development, and these first two are all about that.
Most of us know Ed as the foundational thinker in OD on organizational culture, especially his recent book “Organizational Culture and Leadership,” and his landmark book “Process Consultation Revisited.” His recent book, “Helping: How to Offer, Give, and Receive Help” breaks down the dynamics involved in both directions when we engage as a helper, or the helped. Ed will talk about his forthcoming book, “Humble Inquiry: The Art of Asking Instead of Telling,” and why leaders find inquiry and asking so difficult. Ed is also the recipient of theOD Network's Lifetime Achievement Award (2005)andthe Member's Choice Award in 2004for being one of the five most influential book authors in the field of OD. We'll have much more to say about Ed ahead, but you can read up onEdgar Scheinand at his MIT Sloan School profileEdgar Schein - Society of Sloan Fellows Professor of Management Emeritus...

Project Team: Judith Katz, George W. Hay, Maya Townsend, David Jamieson, and John Vogelsang
The five of us recently invited consultants, faculty and graduate students in OD programs, clients, managers, and HR Business Partners to a series of conversations about the learning edge of OD practice. Those who joined us told many fascinating stories about their own learning edge, new developments, continuing challenges, and how the ground is shifting for OD. We heard how organizations are changing, how OD is changing as a result, and how these changes engender reflection on OD's core values and practices.
