OD
in the E-World or "Experimentation as a Way of Life"
Practicing OD in an E-world
means confronting (um, embracing) change at an alarming (um, exhilarating)
pace. The vast majority of people who work in the E-world organization
learn almost everything they need to know through a loose form of experimentation-trial
and error. Consulting or working in this milieu calls for emotional
resilience, interpersonal skills and a
particular kind of business
savvy.
Ken Florian has 13 years
of experience as a software developer and president / co-owner of a software
company that grew from 8 to 175 people during his tenure. Ken is
now a street-wise consultant, teacher, and challenging coach - a specialist
on teamwork, executive coaching, people systems (OD), training, and the
growth and management of a technology services company. He has educated
and inspired participants at dozens of national conferences consistently
earning high marks for his workshops.
Ken, and possibly one or
two of his current clients, will bring us "up close and personal"
with the E-world experimental mindset. He'll consider change, inertia,
and OD involvement (constructive and not so constructive) in this milieu.
He'll also share the experiments he used in developing his and other organizations
including an initiative he calls "Corporate Boot Camp".
Then, he'll lead us
in our own exploration as we work together to develop new OD initiatives
we can "experiment" with among our own clients and organizations.
Please join us for a fast
paced, evocative evening where the unexpected is likely to evolve. |
