The Power of Personal Positioning:
How to Win More of the Work that Suits You Best

Have you ever been frustrated when an opportunity - perfectly suited to your talents - was secured by someone else?  How are you positioning yourself?

Today, it ís not enough to be excellent at what you do, and to have satisfied internal/external clients.  We must also be skilled at articulating the value we provide and demonstrate how it relates to other’s concerns.  That is the power of positioning.

In this highly interactive session, Diane Kubal, principal of Fulcrum Network, Inc. and Jackie Sloane, positioning coach, will lead a group discussion on:

  • What positioning is.
  • Your ability to communicate the value you provide is directly related to what people are willing to pay for. 
  • Positioning yourself will help others recognize your contributions and accelerate winning more of the work that suits you best.
Diane and Jackie will lead the group in an exercise on clearly articulating the value you provide.  To get the most out of this evening, write down 3-5 examples illustrating the difference you/your work has made for your clients or company in terms of measurable results. Bring copies to the meeting.

Diane Kubal founded Fulcrum Network after witnessing a growing need for consultant liaisons: specialists who match client projects with the right consultants.  A specialist in organization development and training, she has over 20 years of business experience as an internal and external consultant. An independent consultant since 1994, Diane has personally delivered services to clients in a variety of areas, including training, organizational change, management and leadership, team building and group facilitation. 

Positioning coach, Jackie Sloane, has over 20 years of experience in coaching, consulting, marketing, and journalism.  President of Sloane, Communications, Inc. she specializes in helping individuals and organizations accelerate achievement of goals through the way they position themselves. She is the author of the forthcoming book, Position Yourself to Win: 9 Powerful Practices for Creating Miracles in Your Life.
