A
Little Night Music
ODNChicago
Goes to Ravinia - August 22, 2002
The
days are long, the lake and sky beckons, vacations are upon us-and ODN
is honoring summer this year by consolidating our summer schedule with
a summer musical celebration at Ravinia, in Highland Park, on August
22. This means two changes in our normal routine: There will
be NO downtown program meeting and NO suburban meeting other than the social
event at Ravinia.
Come
and join us for a special evening with A Little Night Music, the
Tony award -winning musical by celebrated composer Stephen Sondheim. The
concert stars Patti LuPone and George Hearn, who won accolades last
year.
Ravinia
is accessible via car and by Metra train from the Ogilvie Transportation
Center. Special concert trains stop IN the park right in front
of the gate and return 15 minutes after the end of the concert.
If you stay later and miss the train, the regular Metra stop (and later
trains) are a few blocks away. Lawn admission is $10.
There is a $3 surcharge for buying online at www.ravninia.com,
$5 for buying on the phone. The show starts at 8 PM. ODNChicago is
not purchasing tickets in a block, nor is any RSVP required. Simply
join us!
Where
to gather:
We
will gather beginning at 6:30 for a picnic and social time.
There is a walkway from the Carousel restaurant to the restaurant in the
back of the park. There are statues along it. We will be left
of the walkway, about halfway back, as near as we can get to a modern art
statue of a seated and standing figure together, made of rings of stone.
Bring a picnic dinner and a bottle of wine (or buy it in the park).
Bring lawn chairs, blankets and candles. Happy summer. |
