How
many times have you been asked to help clients move forward only to find
out later that you're dealing with opponents who each secretly hope that
you'll "fix" the "other side"? What do you do? Address the
real issues or "tap dance" around them and leave critical questions unresolved?
Chances are the value that you add as an OD consultant will depend on your
ability to surface touchy issues and provide a path through the hard work
of resolution. In this session, you'll learn how to guide clients
along that path.
Agenda:
You'll
learn how to:
-
Establish
a safe container.
-
Guide
dialogue so that parties to the conflict "unpack their closets" and uncover
underlying interests.
-
Brainstorm
and reality test options so that parties take turns seeing the world from
each other's shoes.
-
Negotiate
agreement so that parties can move forward without anxiety about unfinished
business.
-
Confirm
the resolution so that each party walks away with the same understanding
of what they've agreed to.
