Power of Polarity Management
Panelists:
Don Kumler (Kumler Consulting), Cheryl Scanlan-Hartman (Underwriters
Labs), Anne Ward (Success Measures), Linda Anderson (Independent
Consultant), and Neesa Sweet (Braided River Group)
Recently,
many of us were inspired by attending the Polarity Management workshops
with Barry Johnson. This month, we will draw on that experience in
an informal setting as several of us who attended will facilitate a discussion
about how we can apply what we learned to various organizational situations.
This is a great opportunity to get a sense of the power of Polarity Management
if you were unable to attend the workshops and a great opportunity to do
some action learning together. Bring real situations-situations you
are thinking of as "problems to solve" from your real work and we
will jointly explore insights and actions that might result from those
insights.
This
informal format is a response to member feedback asking for mutual learning
situations in which we can take the time to draw on the powerful experience
of the people in the room. It is a chance for advanced practitioners
to have an in-depth conversation about a way of thinking and a model that
has many potential applications; and to explore how we can "practice" together.
Don
Kumler (Kumler Consulting), Cheryl Scanlan-Hartman (Underwriters
Labs), Anne Ward (Success Measures), Linda Anderson (Independent
Consultant), Neesa Sweet (Braided River Group), and others who attended
the sessions with Barry will be on hand to share what they learned and
facilitate discussion.

Please call (773) 561-4919 or email odnchicago@aol.com.
The meeting will be at Underwriters Labs, 333 Pfingsten Road, Northbrook,
IL 60062. All visitors will need to park in the visitors parking lot at
the Main Entrance of the building (by the large flag poles).
We need to give Underwriters a list for security reasons, so if you're
even thinking of coming or bringing people, send your names to odnchicago@aol.com

Topic:
Revealing
the Future Through Our Values: A diagnostic process used to visualize individual,
team and organizational potential.
Speaker:
David Jewell, Employee & Organization Development at Peoples Energy
What
can we do with data that helps us understand individual and
organizational
values, good and bad habits, competence, role profiles, and focus? These
are elements of the modeling clay with which we build our lives at work,
whether in business, government, or organizations. Together we will explore
new possibilities that can be achieved by thinking about individual and
group potential, beyond current competencies.
The
basis of this program is the Potentia System(TM), processes that work from
a series of instruments, which can be used individually or in combination
to unearth hidden potential. The processes have helped organizations to:
-
Raise
performance levels
-
Improve
retention
-
Enhance
senior-level supply of leadership
-
Match
organizational goals with leaders' potential
-
Speed
change implementation
-
Train
managers to develop their staffs
-
Improve
succession planning
-
Innovate
If we
intend to achieve breakthrough performance in any area, what do we need
to know at the outset that will help us avoid stumbles and sidetracks along
the way?. |
