Description of
both programs
There
now exits a window of opportunity for Corporate America to address the
seeming paradox of money and meaning and forge a common voice about its
reason for being. Clarifying business's role in the world lays the foundation
for long term economic renewal
This
event is a call to re-imagine business motivation in the 21st century.
The emerging capitalism understands that self interest and the common good,
purpose and profits, ethics and economics need not be mutually exclusive,
but rather can be mutually enhancing.
Based
upon interviews with some of the top CEOs in the country, work within major
corporations, current scholarship and the article "A New Manifesto? Re
imagining Business in the 21st Century", by J. Jeffrey Spahn, this workshop
invites us to:
-
participate
in the emergence of a new capitalism
-
expand
your philosophy of business to discover what percentage of executives view
the purpose of business as something beyond maximizing shareholder wealth
-
understand
why re-imagining the motives of business lays the foundation for long term
profitability and immediate productivity
-
acquire
immediately applicable tools for measuring an executive teams alignment
on the purpose of business
-
gain 3
steps for helping a company or team acquire a common and compelling purpose.
This session
will be a mixture of interviews, dialogue, storytelling and mini presentations.
Agenda:
Interview
each other utilizing The Purpose of Business Survey
Dialogue
on the Purpose of Business: The Power of Paradox
Why Why?
story and mini presentation
