Advocate Health Centers is one of several medical groups affiliated with Advocate Health Care. This project is part of an over all Advocate commitment to developing a more patient-centric culture. Kathy and Lisa led an effort to improve associate satisfaction, as measured by a detailed twice-yearly survey. Their work included a wide range of strategically connected OD activities: leadership development, assessment, executive team development, culture change, and performance management. The Impact Awards judges were particularly impressed by the extent of engagement of all the impacted stakeholders: Senior leaders who made becoming an employer of choice a key element of their strategy, and held people accountable for improvement plans Managers who developed as leaders while involving their employees in improving patient satisfaction Associates who gave input into improvements and provided ongoing feedback In addition, the judges could see how the leaders and managers learned from each otherТs stories and successes by sharing best practices, which provided continuous improvement and sustainability. Most importantly, the result of all this work is evident in dramatic and sustained improvement in patient satisfaction and associate satisfaction scores.
