Director Organizational Development

Our client is a St. Louis based publicly traded corporation listed on the NYSE with sales in excess of $5 billion. They are seeking a Director Organizational Development who will report directly to the Vice President Organizational Development. This is a newly created assignment in the department located in St. Louis with the basic function to develop, implement, and manage employee development and retention programs on a global basis.

Summary of Responsibilities:

1. Develop and manage succession planning processes with field operations including participation in talent review meetings, packaging of meeting materials and outputs, and roll ups to corporate management.

2. Support the VP of OD in the information gathering, packaging and planning of corporate succession/talent reviews including periodic changes in succession processes and points of emphasis.

3. Coordinate and manage company wide employee performance management activities including policy/program/process changes, and related training.

4. Participate in the development and implementation of a learning/training architecture for the organization and assume responsibility for the development and implementation of selected programs and processes within that framework.

5. Investigate, recommend and implement employee assessment tools and processes to evaluate new hire candidates for executive positions and next generation programs as well as internal candidates for key leadership positions.

6. Work with management on the creation of individual development plans for succession candidates and others including but not limited to executive education programs, coaching, and special assignments.

7. Help design and build operations and corporate Management Trainee development programs for college recruits.

Experience Qualifications


The successful candidate for this position will have a minimum of 10 years experience in organizational development, human resources and training with a major publicly traded or private corporation. Must have demonstrated a record of establishing effective working relationships with multiple levels of management throughout the Company including human resources professionals both at corporate and remote locations. Bachelor's degree with Masters preferred in OD, human resources, or related discipline.

Compensation will consist of a competitive base salary, annual bonus program, stock options and a very comprehensive benefits program.
