Global Forum 2014

We invite you to the 29th annual Global Forum – an opportunity to dialogue about global OD.  As someone working worldwide – or interested in doing so – come share your stories, challenges and joys about global OD; come discuss the reality of a 2nd OD World Summit in 2015 that will be an IODA/ODN collaboration; come discover new colleagues and engage in continuing to build our OD global community.

In addition to this gathering, join us during your lunch hour on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Men in OD Affinity Group

We welcome all men to this session. We invite participants to talk about what’s uppermost on their minds and hearts, exploring the unique challenges and dynamics of being men in today’s world. Gender dynamics, power, father-son relationships, competency, age and health are among the topics that we’ve covered over the years, and that may well come up again this year. Join us and create the conversation that matters to you.

Latinos/as in OD

Latino/a practitioners are invited to share information about themselves with a focus on stories about their work and being a Latino/a in the OD/HR profession. This conversation will help build a group interested in past, present and future Latino/a OD participation. It is an opportunity to network, share experience and provide support as needed. Come to share and renew your energy, excitement and enthusiasm for our diverse community.

Regional OD Leaders Network

Want to know about building a local or regional network? Need some help with energizing your own? Join this caucus of regional network leaders and members to exchange ideas for increasing the impact of OD in your area. New benefits and tools on the ODN website will be shared. The caucus will be largely conversational so that we can all learn from each other and build stronger personal relationships.

We will meet to discuss the latest developments among the OD academic programs, to review our progress on developing OD competencies, and to continue our conversation on the OD research agenda for the future.  All academic program directors of OD programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels are welcome to join.

People of Color Caucus

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.


People of Color and First Peoples are invited to attend a caucus meeting all day Sunday, October 6th 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the topic "Continuing the Legacy”. The caucus will address the importance of the presence of People of Color and First People in the OD community. The history of the caucus will be a focus of the session with an emphasis on what should the caucus focus on going forward.
A discussion of our history as a group will be covered as well as practitioner best practices for change and justice, and the importance of voice and presence in the tapestry of the global community. Elena Feliz and Arnold Minor have compiled a brief history of the caucus beginning with the work of Fred Miller and others. We invite you to come and add your voice to the journey as we work for justice a voice in the 21st century.

LGBTQ Practitioners in OD Affinity Group

The LGBTQ Professionals in OD will meet to kick off the conference in a connected way! The workplace and the world of work are changing, and not just in North America. There will be a networking activity, discussion about what it is like to be a newer practitioner in the field, and where we see organization development heading in the future. We can buddy up to take notes at different workshop sessions to share, talk about how we are developing ourselves at home, work and school. We are surrounded by experts and have much to offer, ourselves. Let's join together to make this conference the best learning and networking experience possible.
