Consulting is not all the helping activities that people call it! Consultation involves a more involved relationship with clients, guided by certain values and built on credibility, trust and influence. This webinar will focus on an overview of what consulting is and how it differs from the variety of other helping roles, the consultation territory and how each of the different phases have unique purposes and different skills and some key lessons learned related to successful execution of each phase of work.

David W. Jamieson, Ph.D. - Biography
Dr. Jamieson is Professor & Department Chair, Organization Learning & Development, College of Education, Leadership & Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. He is also President of the Jamieson Consulting Group, Inc. and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar in other OD programs. He has 40 years of experience consulting to organizations on leadership, change, strategy, design and human resource issues. He is a Past National President of the American Society for Training and Development (1984) and Past Chair of the Management Consultation Division and Practice Theme Committee of the Academy of Management. He was the recent recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Organization Development Network and Chairs the Organization Development Education Association.
Terry R. Armstrong, Ph.D. - Biography
Terry R. Armstrong is an organization development educator and consultant primarily interested in consulting practice, ethics, and change strategies. Besides being a professor he has served as the: Director of the Arrupe Program in Social Ethics for Business, Woodstock Theological Center, Georgetown University; Director of Graduate Education in Communications, Emerson College; and Director of the MBA Program at the University of West Florida, He is also the Founder of the International Society of Organization Development and Change and has been on the review board of the Organization Development Journal since 1985. Terry advises, coaches, and mentors Leaders, Executives, Managers and OD Professionals on a wide range of personal and organizational issues. He has worked or consulted in 14 countries to over 100 organizations and is active in the Academy of Management and has served as Chair of the Management Consulting Division. He has served several stints as editor of the Organization Development Journal and edited or co-authored several books on change. Currently he lives in Columbus, Ohio and is in private practice working with non profits and emerging organizations.
