One piece of advice for someone who first enters the field is to always be open to new ways of thinking and doing, listen intently and be open to learn. There is no right or wrong answer to anything – only possibilities. Nothing is set in stone – everything is changing. Be open to changing and transforming yourself first – before you help change or transform any system. William Pollard once said “learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow”. Learning and listening are critical to an amazing career – it is the greatest potential for impact in the world around us.
