Are you mystified by complex, emotionally charged situations within your internal or external client organizations? You are no doubt aware how hidden, unspoken, and emotionally charged situations can damage interpersonal relationships, team functioning, and organizational effectiveness. Drawing both from practitioner experience and recent research, including, neuroscience can facilitate an understanding and untangling of what Marcia calls Organizational TanglesTM.
During this webinar you will learn:
· The components of an Organizational TangleTM and several specific variants
· How to discern how clients are interpreting an emotionally charged situation
· How to assist clients in reframing and taking more productive actions to diffuse the tension
Marcia Ruben, PhD, PCC, is currently an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Management Department in the graduate school of management at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. She teaches graduate level courses in leadership and team dynamics.
Marcia coined the term organizational TanglesTM in 2008 to describe highly complex, emotionally charged organizational challenges. She has worked as a Tangle DoctorTM, facilitator, and executive coach in the San Francisco Bay area for over 25 years, with a focus on untangling complex interpersonal and organizational dynamics. For the past 16 years, she has headed up her own successful independent consulting and executive coaching practice. Her previous corporate experience was in the areas of sales, sales management, and executive leadership.
Marcia’s recent consulting engagements have taken her to a variety of business sectors, including high tech, clean tech, biotech, private equity firms, universities, nonprofits, and professional services firms. She works with executives and teams at all levels of leadership.
Her article "Untangling Conflicting Organizational Agendas: Applying Emotional Regulation, SCARF®, and Other NeuroLeadership Principles to a Case Study" is “In press" for volume five of the NeuroLeadership Journal.
