People-oriented & Data-driven OD Interventions to Improve Culture, Team Effectiveness, and Performance

This session is full. You can sign up for the waitlist, and we will send you a link to the recording.

Organizational culture is an increasingly popular topic among business executives, OD, and HR leaders. Leaders are faced with the simultaneous challenges of the difficulty of changing organizational culture and the increasing frequency of the need to change it to align to new business strategies and a “new normal” post-crisis. This session highlights experienced OD practitioners from Universal Parks & Resorts who will discuss these challenges and how they have tackled them in their organization. They will share insights about what in their business led to the need for culture change, methods used to further the desired culture and performance, the challenges they encountered, and next steps planned.

Universal Parks and ResortsBackground
After growing dramatically since the inception of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in 2008, Universal Parks & Resorts (UPR) is continuing their forward momentum in moving from a U.S. company to a much larger global organization through its acquisition of Universal Studios Japan and its decision to build a new park in China. UPR OD practitioners Kristin Chase and Nikki Green will explain how both domestic and global expansion, combined with the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, has reinforced the need for the organization’s culture to mold and shift to new demands and expectations. Leveraging the strong culture built in Orlando that emphasizes “family” and “fun” and that has been driven by actions taken based on the 19-year annual employee survey, the Universal Organizational Development Team is consulting on a variety of interventions and initiatives designed to build a culture characterized by speed and agility, cross-divisional collaboration, transparency, and empowerment.

Tim Kuppler, founder of and Director of Culture & Organization Development with Human Synergistics, a 40+ year pioneer in the culture field, will facilitate the discussion.
