I'm looking for insights or experience in identifying critical issues. My supervisor would like all of his areas to identify what the critical issues are of our community. Here is an outline of what he's looking for:
1. Must fall within the six dimensions of wellness (Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Physical, Emotional and Occupational) from Bill Hettler, MD - National Wellness Institute
2. Must be supported by Community specific data or could include regional/national data if community data doesn't exist
3. Identify what the critical need is (more than 1 can be identified but only 1 per report)
4. Report should be no longer than 2 pages
5. Three (3) weeks to complete

I am trying to help explain or frame the request to his direct reports. Where I am having a difficult time is in the three weeks to complete. I feel like there is a big assumption that data exists and we know what it says without it being our "opinion". Does anyone have any feedback on the request.

Thank you

I think Ms. Moin has a good suggestion. I'm not clear on which community you are identifying, our community of OD Consultants and Coaches or your own community.
A good reference piece for the six dimensions (with additional mention of resources and contributors for more resources) is in the latest Jan-Feb 2022 Entrepreneur, article by Joe Keohane, Title: "What is Meaningful Work". There are lots of statistics there. Also look up census statistics online for some of the statistics as well. The great resignation sparked one of the biggest critical issues in businesses OD consultants face today - Helping businesses retain employees and guiding management to help employees find meaning in their work. The article approaches most of the six dimensions in relation to today's critical issue. It might help you and might be available in the university library. Good for you for asking for help from this community. If you can't find the article, you can contact me at annette@klarcc.com.

Thank you, I will check out the latest Entrepreneur. I have been doing a lot of research but when I look up critical issue its more business specific and I'm actually trying to find community critical issues. I found some really good resources but its from the ground up and the 3 week timeline doesn't fit. I am part of a Tribal Community and that's the critical issues we are trying to identify. I appreciate your help.
