Meet Kim Bailey, Our New Executive Director

Kim BaileyThe OD Network is excited to announce that we have a new Executive Director! Kim Bailey joined our team in March, and will oversee the strategic plan execution with a focus on aligning the member experience with the development of the Global OD Practice Framework™. She will also provide oversight of the annual conference, membership relations, marketing and communications as well as business development.

Kim's enthusiasm and thoughtfulness will be vital as the Board of Trustees works to implement the new strategic plan, grow membership, and build the Global OD Practice Framework™. “We are delighted to have Kim join the OD Network team,” said Chair, Martha Kesler. “Kim has come on board quickly, traversing the learning curve and at the same time bringing fresh perspective and great ideas. She and the rest of the staff are working hard on our behalf to help us move our strategy forward without missing a beat with the daily activities of running the Network.”

Q & A with Kim

Tell us more about your background.
I have a degree in Organization Development and many years of advancement and leadership management experience within the for profit as well as non-profit fields, which aligns with the core role of the position. With an appreciation for effective communication and clear processes, I have led many successful business and relationship development initiatives and look forward to working with the OD Network team to build a stronger network for all OD Practitioners.

What is your favorite moment of your career so far?
When I had a member of my team tell me that I had helped her grow both professionally as a staff member and team leader but also personally by consistently exhibiting compassion and kindness.

What advice do you wish someone had given you early in your career? What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
Two things – I wish I would have been told to not be hasty to respond – allow information to sink in and don’t assume anything. The best advice I have received is to allow others to believe ideas are their own, regardless of who initiates the idea. When you allow ownership, greater engagement will follow.

Tell us a little bit about your life outside of work.
I became a grandmother for the first time in February! My new granddaughter, Miss Victoria, weighed 2 pounds, 4 ounces when she was born but is doing very well and we hope she will be out of the hospital in early May. She is a joy!

What can you not live without?
My family – all siblings and their families included. Whether we are just having dinner together or are on a trip together, we always have a fun time.
