Meet our 2011 Keynote Speakers


Darya Funches

Darya Funches is Founder and Principal for REAP Unlimited, a consulting firm using multiple disciplines to help organizations, groups and individuals change, transform and grow. As a Partner in Innovative Global Resources, she is co-creating approaches for global businesses to use the power of indigenous culture to become high performing and sustainable. Funches has been known throughout her consulting career for cutting edge approaches to help organizations achieve breakthrough business results. She has done pioneering work in effective use of self in organizations, leadership and cultural transformation, employee engagement in change processes, building organizational capability to change and transform, healing organizational trauma, improving performance through diversity and inclusion, , and achieving business turnarounds. OD Network designated her as one of 12 Sages of OD in 1985. She has been a visionary, author, thought leader and inspirational speaker in the field for many years. She served as faculty for AU/NTL, Gestalt Institute-OSD, USC in Washington DC and as Chair of the Board for NTL Institute. Darya holds a Doctorate of Education in Organization Development from University of Massachusetts; a Masters of Public Administration Degree focused on Administrative Behavior from University of North Carolina; a Bachelors of Mathematics from Lake Forest College, and is a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.

Chris Worley

Christopher G. Worley is a senior research scientist at the Center for Effective Organizations at USC’s Marshall School of Business, and he is also a professor of management at Pepperdine University, where he teaches in the Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) program. In addition to articles and chapters on strategic change and organization design, he has co-authored Management Reset (2011), Built to Change, Integrated Strategic Change, and five editions of Organization Development and Change, the leading textbook in the field. His recent consulting clients include Microsoft, Philips, Unilever, Hannaford, and Bayer.


Kaye Foster-Cheek

Kaye Foster-Cheek joined Onyx Pharmaceuticals in September 2010 as Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources. Prior to joining Onyx, Ms. Foster-Cheek was Vice President of Human Resources and Executive Committee Member at Johnson & Johnson where she was responsible for the human resources and talent management functions. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Ms. Foster-Cheek held several senior Human Resources executive positions with Pfizer Inc, and led the integration of both the Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia mergers for multiple countries. Ms. Foster-Cheek earned her undergraduate degree at Baruch College of the City University of New York and received an M.B.A. from Columbia University, Graduate School of Business.


Tom Lockwood

Thomas Lockwood is the past President of DMI, the Design Management Institute, a non-profit educational organization based in Boston, MA, and the founding partner of Lockwood Resource, a recruiting firm specializing in design and innovation leaders. One of the few people in the world with a Ph.D. in design management, he is recognized as a thought leader in the area of integrating design and innovation into business, and building great internal design organizations. Editor of the books Corporate Creativity, Building Design Strategy, and Design Thinking, Lockwood is a visiting professor at Pratt Institute in New York City, a frequent design award juror, Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts in London, design advisor to corporations and to countries, and he has lectured and led brand and design workshops in over 20 countries.

Itay Talgam

Conductor Itay Talgam has worked with some of the world’s best musical ensembles and orchestras and assisted great maestri such as Leonard Bernstein and Claudio Abbado. A native Israeli, he pursued musical studies at the Music Academy of Jerusalem and philosophy at the Hebrew University. Later, he continued his studies in Italy and the United States. His unique use of music-making and conducting as a metaphor for leadership, communication, and relationships has made him a desired keynote speaker at many significant global conferences, including Google's Zeitgeist, TED Global, and the World Economic Forum in Davos. Besides his keynote speeches, Talgam works with many organizations, universities, and government agencies around the world, where he incorporates learning goals with live chamber music and symphony orchestras.
