OD NETWORK │ IODA Highlight Featured Speakers

Meet the WORLD in Portland in October at the 2015 OD Network | IODA Annual Conference and 2nd OD World Summit.

This year’s annual conference is already brimming with insightful OD leaders, including the following two keynote speakers:

  • Adam Kahane, Director of Reos Partners

"Doing Organizational Development Beyond the Organization: What It Takes to Solve Today's Toughest Problems." Adam will address how we as OD practitioners, can stretch beyond the ways of acting and deal with our most important opportunities and challenges.

  • Elizabeth Hunter, MS, CFRE

"Leading By Example: The importance of Cultivating Vision, Values and Adaptability."

Elizabeth will explore how OD practitioners can learn from organizations in ways that sustain our own passion, drive innovation in our profession, and leverage the strength of our diversity.

In addition to our keynote speakers, we are excited to announce that we are expanding upon the global conference theme by hosting three plenary speakers from South Africa.

Thanks to sponsor, Case Western Reserve University

We are able to bring Dr. Anastasia Bukasha, Mr. Morontshi Matsubane and Col. Louie Cole, retired, to Portland for the keynote panel:

“Living through Apartheid: The Power of Witnessing The Other.”

This panel is a unique opportunity to witness these two gentlemen – former “enemies”, current friends – share their stories in bold detail and impressive vulnerability.  Mr. Matsobane once said in response to a question: “Being angry against my former oppressors would take too much energy, energy I’d rather use helping to rebuild South Africa.”  People who have witnessed their open conversation are humbled, altered and inspired by the experience. What we believe will be relevant for conference participants is the importance of witnessing without judgment (which is a skill we strive for in our work); the power of story, of being present and open to different worldviews; and the profound nature of reconciliation.  Dr. Bukashe will frame and moderate the conversation, as an OD practitioner and academic.  They all will answer audience questions.

Join us for what will sure to be remarkable conference that truly brings the world of OD together.
