The Culture Journey Experience - Master the Big Picture of Culture and Culture Change

Organizational culture and its impact on individuals, organizations, and even society are constant subjects of interest. Culture is finally a part of leadership team discussions at most organizations. Unfortunately, few truly understand it despite most CEOs reporting culture as being critical to business success. A new approach is needed to help leaders and change agents understand the complexities of culture, leadership, and the connection to performance improvement in an accelerated environment. The Culture Journey Experience was created to combine peer learning with targeted education based on facts and fundamentals about culture, climate, and change management that are not widely understood. Human Synergistics leveraged the expertise of Root Inc., the leaders in organizational change, to develop this experience, facilitated in tables of 6 to 10 based on the Root Learning Map® methodology, that utilizes, visuals, two-way dialogue, reflection questions, data, scenarios, and a workbook. Share key learnings, experiences, and culture-related concepts to understand and appreciate the complexity and unique culture perspectives of peers and experts. Understand how culture is originally created and the impact of history on the current state, as well as important aspects of the work climate that shape and reinforce the current culture. Build a common language for understanding the layers of culture using qualitative and quantitative methods. Discover how culture evolves and identify paths that increase the likelihood of shared learning and positive results with any major change effort. Identify causal factors (systems, structures, etc.) that are part of the work climate and understand how they reinforce the current culture and may be levers for change in improvement plans. Apply learnings at each step of the workshop to your own organization or organizations with which you work. Receive a workbook with discussion and reflection questions so you can apply key workshop learnings with colleagues at your organization after the event.

Trust Management in Organizational Ecosystems: Building Better Conversations for Change

Relationship-building is the new "old" way to stay both agile and resilient. Every conversation either builds trust so others willingly enter into uncertainty and actively participate in transformative processes, or it blocks trust and reinforces pattern resistance in people. The principles can be taught throughout the organization and create a culture of non-assumption and curiosity that can help weaken barriers to diversity of thought, position, identity, or purpose. This workshop will be a safe place to practice the principles being learned and to experiment with mobilizing others to do the same. Opportunity worksheets will be provided to look at your own practices and to identify your own organizational tendencies. In groups, there will be time to practice some conversational trust-building and share with others what was learned in the conversations. Hard science experimenters are welcome. Challenged or frustrated change management facilitators are welcome. Misunderstood change catalysts are welcome. Let's learn together and create something new and beautiful in your OD practice.
