Socio-Economic Approach to Management
SEAM International Institute is a collaboration between the University of St. Thomas and the Institute of Socio-Economic Organizations Research (ISEOR), of Lyon, France. The SEAM International Institute was established in 2013 to promote the concepts and values about organizations that are at the core of the SEAM philosophy, to foster the use of SEAM in organizations of all kinds in North America, and to educate consultants and leaders in the Socio-Economic Approach to Management (SEAM).

SEAM is based on the awareness that many organizations base their businesses on old beliefs about management that lead to inefficient and dehumanizing practices, which damage individuals, organizations and society. These beliefs lead to organizational dysfunctions, which in turn lead to hidden costs that are not measured by traditional accounting. Researching Organisational Change and Learning: A Narrative Approach
This paper explores a qualitative research approach to organisational change and learning based on the gathering and reporting of stories. Particular emphasis is placed on reporting research findings in the "voices" of the organisational actors involved in the research. The paper starts by identifying learning, socialisation and diversity as a context for research and goes on to examine the power relations implicit in organisational learning. A pluralistic approach to the use of storytelling in organisational analysis is discussed and a research process is described. Issues of how research findings are represented are examined as are some unresolved and potentially unresolvable problems with narrative based research.
